Research : Functional genomics in prostate cancer

Functional genomics is a promising approach to identify and understand cancer-related genes and signalling pathways. This approach can also help identify opportunities for targeted therapy. Viral-mediated library screens have identified synthetic lethal genes such as PARP and PLK1 for targeted therapy. Combining these screens with transcriptomics and deep sequencing will be a novel strategy for bridging basic and translational research. This project is being developed in collaboration with Prathibha Ranganathan of CHG.
