Centre for Human Genetics, Bengaluru invites applications for research
positions leading to a PhD degree to be awarded by Manipal University.
Candidates with a Master's degree in any science or a Bachelor’s degree in
engineering, medicine or allied sciences with a minimum of 55% or equivalent
grades are eligible to apply. It is preferable, but not mandatory, that at the
time of application, the candidates have cleared a national-level examination
and procure a research fellowship tenable at CHG (such as GATE/CSIR/UGCNET,
JRF exams conducted by DBT/ICMR, JGEEBILS, Entrance test conducted by
Manipal University and the like). Selected candidates will have to appear for an
interview. Successful applicants who lack financial support will be paid a
stipend (equivalent to that of a project assistant) by the Centre, and will be
encouraged to clear a national examination and obtain a fellowship within a
year of admission to the Ph.D. programme.
Applications will be received throughout the year. Screening, interviews and
admissions will be carried out twice a year, in May and November. A formal

copy to be mailed to the Dean, CHG, at the address given below. The
application format can be found on the CHG website. Applications should
include a CV, marks obtained in the 10th and 12th standard and B.Sc.,
M.Sc/MBBS degree examination marks and degree certificate (all in the form
of authenticated copies) along with a recent photograph. A brief description
the applicant’s research interest should accompany the application. At least
two referees should be requested to submit letters of recommendation
directly. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Candidates shortlisted for an interview will be intimated by email.
